Our Nursery
Our nursery offers Morning only 15 hour or full day 30 hour funded places for children aged 3 – 4 years. We welcome children of all faiths and beliefs, to find out more or arrange a visit please email info@smrc.school or call 0191 522 8787.
Our Nursery is part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS provision) and provides:
- A safe environment where your child will learn through high quality play.
- Your child will develop at their own pace, not pushed or pressured.
- An emphasis on active learning and fun. Adults who understand and care about your child.
- Key workers who will pick up on interests and abilities and develop them through play and quality interactions.
How you can support your child:
- Let your child dress him/herself - putting on coat, putting on shoes
- Encourage them to become more independent
- Talk to your child about their day
- Wear school uniform (jogging bottoms, white polo top, shorts in the summer, Black or white Velcro shoes/trainers)
- Ensure all clothes and shoes are labelled
What is the Early Years Foundation Stage?
- It is the stage your child is in until they reach the end of their reception year
- Nursery and reception classes where learning will be active, exciting and accelerated
